Tristan Gaven

Tristan has been a class actions practitioner for almost 10 years.  His particular interest is in human rights actions and he is also experienced in financial services, consumer and environmental claims.

Tristan brings a strong intellectual rigour to his work, a keen eye for strategic opportunity and advantage and a calm and disarming demeanour that belies a steely, highly skilled negotiator. 

In 2022 Tristan negotiated a $50 million settlement for the relatives and family of stolen indigenous children in the Stolen Generation class action, a landmark piece of litigation which prompted the establishment of a remediation scheme for Stolen Generation survivors.
